Loretta Stewart, MA Instructor

In October 1995, I embarked on my journey in the field of phlebotomy. I enrolled at Southeastern Technical College, where I pursued my education in medical assisting. Little did I know at the time, this decision would lead me to obtain a phlebotomy certification as well. Initially, I was unaware of the intricacies of phlebotomy, but upon receiving my certificate of completion, I realized it was the perfect choice for my career path. However, it took me approximately five years before I actually began working in the field. It was in October 2003 when I finally started my employment at Liberty Regional, and I instantly fell in love with the work environment. The next 22 years of my professional life were spent at this institution, where I gained an immense amount of knowledge and experience. As a certified phlebotomist and medical assistant , I find immense joy and happiness in my role. Working in the laboratory is a crucial and significant job, as it plays a vital role in assisting doctors in healing and treating patients. With more than two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, I have established myself as the phlebotomy lead at Liberty Regional Medical Center and previously served as a phlebotomist lead at Memorial Health University in Savannah, GA. Additionally, I have collaborated with various mobile phlebotomist companies throughout my career.

Aspiring to become a teacher has always been my dream, as I find great satisfaction in helping others learn new things. Witnessing the smile of accomplishment on an individual's face is my favorite part of the job. My personality has always been characterized by a calm and patient state of mind, which I believe is essential for effective teaching. With this passion for education and healthcare, I founded Med Care Pro to help others start a career that offers endless opportunities for growth. I myself completed my phlebotomy technician certification while attending early college courses in high school, and at just 19 years old, I began my career in the hospital setting as a lab assistant. Working in this field brings me immense joy and love for the lab, as there is always so much to learn. At Med Care Pro, we aim to increase healthcare education in local counties around us, with the goal of bringing a bigger picture to the industry. With five years of experience as a certified phlebotomist technician and medical assistant, I have previously worked at Liberty Regional Medical Center, OBGYN physician offices, mobile phlebotomy jobs, and trauma hospitals.
